Overview of the Britax B-Ready Stroller
Many parents go through several strollers within the first few years of their child’s life. The Britax B-Ready stroller is on a mission to help change that. Although the initial price of it may be a bit higher than other strollers, many parents can see that it’s a good investment because of its versatility. It has the ability to carry a second child with the second seat attachment, which is great for families with more than one child or twins. Perhaps the best thing about the Britax B-Ready stroller is how modular it is, with over 14 possible configurations, including multiple seat, bassinet and infant car seat configurations. With so many configurations, it ensures that you can find ones that suit your needs without having to go through several strollers. It can also be used right from birth up until your child reaches the maximum capacity of 55 lbs, so it will certainly serve you for a good amount of time.
Seat
The seat on the Britax B-Ready stroller is nice and roomy, measuring 12″ wide with a 21.5″ seatback. The seatback to canopy measurement is 24″ so it can easily fit taller children. There is also a no re-thread, adjustable 5-point harness for safety as well as an adjustable head pad for comfort. It is very easy to adjust the head pad and harness – simply unzip a zipper located at the back of the seat and squeeze and slide the adjuster button up or down. Another nice feature of the seat is the footrest, which is also adjustable with up to 4 positions. There is a swing-away baby bumper bar which is removable. Although there is no child tray, you can purchase cup or snack holders separately and they go in the same slots as the baby bumper bar. The seat is reversible, so the child can either face the parent or the world. The whole seat is reclinable using a one handed lever for up to three different recline positions.
As demonstrated in the image below, there are 14 different configurations that can be done with the main seat, bassinet and second seat, leaving lots of room for options. It’s not surprising that this stroller should cater to most parents’ needs.
One very special feature about the Britax B-Ready stroller is that you can purchase a second seat separately and attach it to the lower part of the stroller. This feature is great if you have twins or more than one child. Amazingly, this second seat can also recline to three positions including a flat one so it can accommodate a newborn. The second seat is wider at 13″ but also shorter with a 18″ seatback and a 22″ seatback to canopy measurement. It has a capacity of 35 lbs (around 3 years of age), so it’s more appropriately used with younger children.
Handlebar
The Britax B-Ready stroller features an adjustable handlebar to accommodate both shorter or taller parents. Although it is not telescopic it is adjustable to 4 positions (from 33″ to 44″). The adjustability of the handlebar is a nice feature because it prevents taller parents from kicking the frame when taking long strides. In addition, the handlebar is one piece instead of two, with a grip in the center for easy one-handed maneuverability.
